Who we are:

Long Island Science Congress is an adjudicated exhibit of science projects by students of Nassau County and Suffolk County middle schools, junior high schools and senior high schools, sponsored by the Long Island Sections of the Science Teachers Association of New York State (STANYS).  LISC began in 1950 under the auspices of  the New York State Science Teachers Association and The Nassau Daily Review-Star.  Since its inception, there have been over 85 committee members consisting of teachers, professors, and doctors.   The 2010 LISC Executive Committee would like to welcome and encourage each school to participate during this memorable year.

Host institution: Farmingdale State College, Nold Hall.

When:

   FILING STARTS: TUESDAY, DECMBER 1, 2009   

   FILING DEADLINE: SATURDAY, JANUARY 30, 2010   

Senior Division  April 14, 2010. Comprised of grades 10 through 12 and those 9th graders taking their SECOND State science Regents course. Registration from 7:45 to 8:30 AM. Judging from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Luncheon for judges.

Junior Division  April 15, 2010. Comprised of grades 7 through 8 and those 9th graders taking their FIRST State science Regents course. Registration from 7:45 to 8:30AM. Judging from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Luncheon for judges.

The application for the Robert Nelson Award

Available for downloading during the week of March 4, 2010. The mailing deadline is March 26, 2010 Students must have done their work independent of universities and research institutions.
